Rose Hurley is a dedicated advocate, counselor, and community leader with deep roots in Hamilton, Ohio. With a professional foundation in social services and behavioral health, she brings over a decade of grassroots leadership and lived experience to her work—championing equity, recovery, and civic empowerment across Butler County.

Rose currently serves as a Facilitator for the Getting Ahead program at SELF (Supports to Encourage Low-income Families), where she helps individuals experiencing poverty build stability and long-term success through self-assessment, goal-setting, and community connection. Her prior roles include addiction counseling and program leadership at Seacrest Recovery and Sojourner Recovery Services, where she supported women in recovery, trained behavioral health specialists, and oversaw trauma-informed operations.

She is pursuing her Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Cincinnati, having previously attended Miami University, where she was recognized as EHS Student of the Year and NASW Ohio Region 6 Student of the Year. Rose holds an Ohio CDCA certification and has represented social work students in national policy discussions in Washington, D.C.

Beyond her professional work, Rose is the founder and organizer of the Hamilton Pub Crawl, a grassroots fundraising event supporting local nonprofits like The Starfish Foundation. She has served on the City of Hamilton Charter Review Commission, volunteered with Hamilton Ohio Pride and the RiversEdge Concert Series, and held leadership roles in numerous student and community organizations.

A proud recipient of a 17Strong Microgrant, Rose believes in meeting community needs through creative, collaborative solutions. Her passion lies in lifting others up—whether through direct support, civic engagement, or amplifying the voices of those often unheard.
Rose brings to every effort a combination of compassion, resilience, and vision. She is especially committed to addressing systemic issues like affordable housing, addiction recovery, and access to care for women and families. Through both service and policy, she strives to make Hamilton a place where all residents feel valued, connected, and empowered to thrive.

Outside of her work, Rose finds joy in good food, good music, good friends, and travel—all of which feed her soul and fuel her commitment to community.
