Jeffrey Diver is executive director of Supports to Encourage Low-income Families (SELF), the state-designated Community Action Agency for Butler County, Ohio. Mr. Diver assumed the responsibilities in April 1996 as the first employee of the organization.

He currently serves as past president of the Board of Directors of Primary Health Solutions (the federally qualified health center network in the county), Vice President of the Transit Alliance of Butler County, past president of the Butler County Family and Children First Council, and committee chair on the Hamilton Vision Commission. Mr. Diver is a member of the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies’ Board of Directors and a lifetime certified “Bridges Out of Poverty” trainer.

He has been recognized with the Karen S. House Leadership Award for Dedication and Commitment to the Development of Leadership for Regional Collaboration by the West Chester Chamber Alliance in 2005; the Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major Award from the Middletown Ministerial Alliance in 2008; the President’s Award from the Middletown NAACP in 2017; and the MLK “Purpose” award by the Feed the Hungry Project in 2019.
Mr. Diver is a skilled facilitator, presenter and community organizer. By invitation, he has authored nine articles and presented at 50 state and national conferences on building successful public/private partnerships, positive leadership, and grassroots organizing. A taped copy of one presentation was a top-seller with the American Society of Association Executives in 1996.

Before coming back to the area where he was raised, he was the field director from 1989 to 1996 of the National SAFE KIDS Campaign, based in Washington, D.C., which worked to protect children from injury. There his department built and sustained more than 200 local and state SAFE KIDS coalitions, representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Much of the work of these coalitions was directed toward reaching and empowering diverse, low-income populations that are at greatest risk. He also conducted leadership training for coalition volunteers. Former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, M.D, chaired the campaign.

Prior to joining SAFE KIDS, he was a highway safety specialist for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, U.S. Dept. of Transportation, in Washington D.C. There he built community anti-drinking and driving coalitions nationwide in collaboration with the NBA and Major League Baseball teams under the program called TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management).
A native of southwest Ohio, Mr. Diver was graduated from Bowling Green State University with degrees in education and journalism. He and his wife have four children.
