Neighbors Who Care: Home Repair Program
SELF helps low-income Butler County homeowners with free home repairs and mobility modifications. Last year, we helped more than 170 senior citizens, people with disabilities and families with young children who were physically and/or financially unable to do the work themselves.
We serve Butler County, Ohio homeowners with household incomes at 50-80% or below the Area Median Income. To see if you may qualify, or to apply for home repair assistance, please call 513-664-0174 or email email@example.com.
DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF APPLICANTS EACH YEAR, PLEASE NOTE THAT PRIORITY OF WORK WILL GO TO THOSE WITH MOBILITY AND SAFETY NEEDS FIRST. (Wheelchair ramps, grab bars, emergency furnace, etc.)
Volunteers Needed: SELF is recruiting additional local volunteers to help with home repairs. We have crews that work on Butler County homes selected days of the month. If you can help, please contact Maria Lowry at 513-664-0174 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Group Workcamps Home Repair Blitz Week
Since 2009, SELF has successfully partnered with the national non-profit Group Cares Foundation to hold an annual Group Workcamps Home Repair blitz week that alternates between Hamilton and Middletown, Ohio.
During the “blitz week”, hundreds of high school students and adult youth leaders from around the country perform home repairs for low-income and elderly residents who cannot do the work themselves. How can I help?
Local volunteers are needed to help with coordinating the work, fundraising for the $19,000 building supply fund and providing hospitality for the visitors. Donations are now being accepted for the materials budget as well.
If you are interested in helping with this project but are not able to volunteer your time, please consider making a donation. Supporters can donate to this effort by making checks payable to SELF and mailing them to P.O. Box 1322, Hamilton, Ohio 45012. You can also make an online donation using PayPal by clicking the “Donate” button at right. Please designate the “Home Repair Project” in the check memo line or the online donation “notes to seller” box.
